SAME Forum 2010 - RESULTS

SAME 2010 Forum was a success despite a difficult year and has become a major European event open to all professionals within the microelectronics sector and took place in the heart of the Science and Technology Park of Sophia Antipolis, South of France.

AGAIN THIS YEAR:
SAME 2010 Forum hosted SAFA Workshop (Sophia Antipolis Formal Analysis).

THIS YEAR THE TECHNICAL CONTENT IS STILL WIDE

• A specific topic : Microelectronics & Smart Energy, with a panel dedicated to this topic.

• Three keynote speakers:
  Gene FRANTZ, Texas Instruments
  Pierre GARNIER, Texas Instruments
  Joachim KUNKEL, Synopsys

• An executive panel focusing on Microelectronics devices as enablers for saving energy.

• A key executive panel focusing on Local implications in the worldwide market and local market.

• A technical panel focussing on Advanced packaging technology.

• One Special Event on the topic 3D Demo in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.

• A focus on start-ups in the sector: they have been allotted a shared booth and a start-ups Panel.

• A case study based on Start-up experiences.

• A Special SAFA Workshop : Sophia Antipolis Formal Analysis was scheduled during both days.

AS ALWAYS AT THE SAME 2010 FORUM:

 

I - Technical conferences & Tutorials :

1/ Technical conferences : 18 papers have been proposed. A program composed of 3 sessions and 8 presentations, selected for the quality of their content.

2/ Tutorials : 5 topics selected.

The papers received and the presentations delivered during the Technical Conferences and Tutorials are available on the USB Key SAME 2010 Proceedings.

II – Start-ups Panel :

Six start-ups - 4 from France and 2 from abroad - have been selected to participate in the SAME Forum 2010.
They are Secure IC, Riviera Waves, AGO Alpha Star, ESPHI, 3Eco Concept & Grid Pocket. These start-ups from the microelectronics sector have been chosen on the basis of the following criteria : their positioning within the economic value chain of SAME participants ; whether the innovation they propose is genuine and meets key needs in the market ; whether the team has the credibility to pursue the company’s project successfully.

These firms will benefit from support based on highly-targeted discussions which will be proposed with potential buyers or partners, reflecting the strategic marketing approach adopted by each firm. In addition to these meetings, a round table for start-ups will enable each one of them to make a 20-minute presentation of its proposal, on Wednesday, October 6, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

A shared booth has been set aside for the 6 start-ups throughout the Forum.

A jury will present the best start-up with an Award produced by EM Design.

III – University Booth :

The SAME 2010 Forum provides a shared University Booth for EDA software and hardware demonstrations which are scheduled on October 6 & 7.

9 demonstrations (academic posters) from European Universities have been selected to participate and present their latest works.

A prize was awarded for the best University Demo.

SAME 2010 Forum : Partner of the charity association “Rencontres Africaines” and the Lenval Foundation

The donation (10 360 €) will participate to finance one or more on-site surgery missions in Mauritania, where operations will be performed on children suffering from malformations from birth or other complaints…

This mission will be handled by teams of specialists from the LENVAL hospital in Nice.
