Local Implications in the Worldwide Market and Local Market.
The microelectronics industry has been a core growth sector for the last few decades, and will continue to generate business growth, but is also going through very deep changes. Actually, we are seeing great trends of increased complexity of the semiconductor solution driven by two major factors :
- The increase trend in integration that drives real system knowledge requirement for the microelectronic actors,
- The subsequent requirement of embedded software into silicon platform. These elements, combined with the well known cyclic factor of the semiconductor industry, drive important restructuring and core competencies shift within the actor of this industry.
Major players in the microelectronics industry installed in Sophia-Antipolis have decided to analyze how to regroup forces in form of collaborative projects to help stimulating an eco-system around new semiconductor platforms that can leverage.
